Kaitakitaki (KT) Chestrig Placard

Kaitakitaki - Pathfinder or someone who conducts route reconnaissance (credit to Dr Takirirangi Smith PHD, Director of Literature (LittD) Tohunga Whakiro (Master Carver) for the translation).

The placard forms the basis of the KT Chest Rig.  It features an expandable hook and loop lined pocket on the front with height adjustment or pass through which can carry up to four 5.56mm magazines in inserts or three 7.62mm PMAGs.  On the rear it has a hook mounting platform to attach to a plate carrier with a loop front or to allow the KT Chest Rig Bib and or a BAP pouch to be mounted.  This hook area is covered over with a Squadron/loop backer when used as a chest rig.  There is a pattern matched loop panel on the outside for name tapes or flags.  There are flat slides and Squadron tabs on each side to allow you to tighten and secure the magazine pocket as needed.

The vertical mounting is constructed of a Squadron tab and a metal flat slide which allows you to swap between side release buckles or metal G hooks.

The slotted ladder on the sides allows you to mount First Spear Repair Tubes® or side release buckles. 

The KT Chest Rig can be equipped with the KT Chest Rig Wings or connected to another Placard with Tubes® or side release clips.  You can mount the KT Chest Rig to either the KT Chest Rig Harness or KT Chest Rig Patrol Harness.   Please choose the KT Chest Rig Split Front Tubes or Buckle options on this page if you plan to build a split front rig.

If you plan to mount the KT Chest Rig Placard to a plate carrier please choose the SR Buckle or G Hook option.  If you plan to attach it to the KT Chest Rig Harness or Patrol Harness you do not need to select either of the above options as the fittings are included with the harness.

The KT Chest Rig Placard is constructed with B52 Squadron, 500d Cordura, Velcro brand hook and loop fastener and ITW fittings.  Squadron is a Cordura laminate of two layers of Cordura fabric welded together to form an extremely strong and hard wearing fabric.
